Friends of the Virginia Pep Band

The Pep Band has an official, bona fide Hollywood movie credit to its name.

In the film "Bring It On," starring Kirsten Dunst, the producers used a clip from the Pep Band's rendition of the Cav Song on its late 90s CD titled "Unzipped." You can hear the Pep Band's performance of the Cav Song about mid-way through the movie in a scene that takes place at a high school football game. In a scene that focuses on the cheerleaders, the producers used the clip to provide the "background" sound of the high school's band playing a fight song in the stands. The clip is clearly the Pep Band's version of the Cav Song from the Unzipped CD.

We had a fun time going to see the movie in a big group, then running into the UVa cheerleaders who were also there as a group (complete with warmups on). I'm in a movie - woo!
